November 2024 Ministry Update

We returned to the U.S. in August to spend time with family and friends and to see our doctors. Eric’s mom passed away in September and we were beyond thankful and blessed to be able to spend her last days with her. We witness over and over again how God is always in the detail of our days. As Thanksgiving draws near, we want to take the time to tell each of you how thankful we are for you and feel blessed beyond measure to partner with you in ministry.

West Cabarrus Church – Mission Focus Week

We had the great privilege of attending and participating in the Mission Focus Week at West Cabarrus Church in Concord, N.C. We have been members of West Cabarrus since 1999 and we are so thankful to be partnering with them in ministry. We love their heart for their neighbors and the nations.

Billy and Donna Hires

It is always a blessing to get to serve with Billy and Donna. They were here for a week participating in several ministries. They were able to attend our home Bible study on Sunday, meet with and encourage pastors connected with our ministry, and teach a conference on "The Ministry of the Word" in Susuli at Pastor Henry's church. What a blessing they were! We are already looking forward to when they return!

Walk Thru The Bible Pastor and Sunday School Teacher Conference

Alejandro Oviedo, the Regional Director for Central America and the Caribbean, taught a 3 day conference for 60 pastors from all over Nicaragua. The sessions were “Reset - Seeing God’s Daughters Through His Eyes” and “Bible Study Simplified “. The following 3 days Alejandro and his daughter, Laura, taught 30 Sunday School teachers from different churches “The Old Testament Alive for Children”. The attendees in both conferences were very engaged and are returning to their churches excited to share what they learned. It was such a privilege to partner with Brenda Rose in the planning and implementation of this conference.

Iglesea Bautista Mahanaim – Community of Santa Emilia

Once a month on a Saturday morning we are meeting with the members of Pastor Cesar's church. We have a round table discussion on a preselected topic. We are enjoying this opportunity to talk about God's Word and strengthen our relationship with the members of his church.

Discipleship / Bible Studies

Building relationships is a high priority for us, so our weekly Bible Studies and Discipleship group are very special. It is a privilege to get to study God’s Word each week with them. The Sunday group is studying Faith in Action. The Monday group is studying women of the Bible. They learned about the life of Hannah and are currently studying Deborah. The Friday group is studying Four Chair Discipleship by Dann Spader.

Lee Harbinson – A Life Well Lived

Eric’s mom passed away in September and we were able to celebrate her life with family and friends on Oct.5th. She leaves with us a legacy of what life looks like to love and trust God through good times and trials and also what it looks like to have a true servant’s heart. We will miss her dearly but look forward to the day we see her again.
